Good luck hiding our sordid past from The WayBackMachine!
Saturday, June 16, 2001, found me the mostly welcome visitor at Hash #234 of the Tallahassee & Area Hash House Harriers. Rather than have me fail trying to explain what 'hashing' is, surf over to What remains of the T&AHHH site for more info than you can digest in one sitting. They hashed locally pretty much bi-weekly. [May have disbanded early in 2007?] With all the DEP types participating, they probably have a net positive environmental impact.
The location for this hash was the new park we've been calling the Alford property. The start was at the south end of Pedrick Road. I biked, for no apparent reason.
Square Root's help with my captioning duties was indispensable.
Thanks for the hospitality, T&AHHH!

Beer Mile - Spring 2002 : Another gallery from the defunct Club Photo site recreated upon request. I always have the photos, and found the captions here:

Original Club Photo "album" text:
Friday, May 24, 7pm, FSU's Mike Long Track.
This event contributes further to my question, 'Why do they call them adult beverages?' Or for that matter, whenever anything is preceded with the modifier 'adult' it ends up being an oxymoron.
But the event went off as planned. More photographers/videographers than participants. It was an opportunity to have one last go at the decrepit Rekortan surface before the facility gets rebuilt over the summer.

You expert observers may determine whether they followed "Kingston Beer Mile" rules.

Searching that beermile site, I didn't find this 2002 event. But they had four other Tally events listed:

Yikes - these shots are pretty bad.
Sorry, captions lost from defunct Club Photo site.
You may search here, via the Internet Archive's WayBackMachine:

With a gallery full of shots, you may find it easier to navigate if you change the gallery "style" (top right) from "smugmug" to "all thumbs." Or "slideshow" or "filmstrip" or . . . you get the idea, it's configurable by you. I usually like "journal."

Special Olympics 1K/5K : The SATURDAY, 27 January track and road races beginning and ending at FSU's Mike Long Track.

Looking for the "Special Olympics Area 3 Games" gallery? It's here.

For easy gallery navigation, you might try switching the gallery "style" to "all thumbs." See pull-down menu, top right.

~170 photos from the miscellaneous cameras I was juggling pathetically. Lead bike duty (and a bad lens choice) kept me from shooting more photos out on the course - sorry! Most of the shots I attempted out on the course were taken without proper "framing," and too long a lens. For the most part, I just pointed the camera roughly in the area that I wanted and snapped the shutter while pedaling the bike. Not that I need excuses - I've managed to screw up the most carefully planned shot. Best that I trust the camera's judgement, not mine.
I've rearranged most of the photos in chronological order. (I was switching back and forth among the cameras.) No doubt I'll get some wrong. Feel free to critique!
I'm mostly done with ID/captioning. I took an "educated guess" on several when it appeared there was a glitch in the results/registration. Please send me any POSITIVE ID or corrections. I'd like to give everyone proper treatment. Thanks!
Short video compilation posted here.
FSU story with more photos, here.
Gary Droze article in the Tallahassee Democrat.
Much of this gallery is posted in the Tallahassee Democrat online, but with no captions/ID or the ability to view 'em all at once. What do you think of this viewing experience?
Photos from Terry Massa, here.
Yet another photographer's gallery is posted here.

Some of the Special Athletes also participated at the 2006 Owl Run.
